Executive Director Tanimoto 'discovered' the little-known Cerro Amay Cloud Forest Ecosystem during his doctoral research on cloud forest birds in 2006. He founded the Cloud Forest Conservation Initiative in 2009, and since then, he has guided our projects and expanded our conservation approach.
Dr. Hatten is a professional entomologist and ecological statistician with extensive experience in the tropics. He was instrumental in surveying the insects of Cerro El Amay and collaborating with Universidad del Valle de Guatemala's Biodiversity Research Laboratory.
Elias is our Guatemalan-based conservationist. He works for the Guatemalan Protected Areas Council and works tirelessly to implement conservation projects with community leaders and land owners. Elias is currently finishing up his Licenciatura degree in Environmental Studies.
Jeremy is a restoration ecologist and conservation botanist. An expert at outreach and organizational development, he is also the powerhouse behind our eco-tourism program. He has an amazing ability to generate excitement and advance our conservation cause.
Rob has worked as a conservationis in the southern Appalachian region and Costa Rica for many years. His interests range from sustainable farming and organic super foods, to music composition and recording. He is an adept climber and spelunker. Perhaps most importantly, his enthusiasm is contagious and his ideas never-ending.
